Should You Brush Before or After Breakfast?

Many dental experts recommend brushing about 30 minutes before breakfast rather than right after. Overnight, bacteria build up in the mouth and should be cleared before you eat.

If you eat acidic foods like orange, lemon or coffee in the morning, enamel becomes temporarily softer. Brushing right after can wear down this weakened enamel. It's best to wait 30-60 minutes after eating if you prefer to brush afterward.

Whichever timing you choose, the most important thing is keeping a consistent habit of brushing twice a day with fluoride toothpaste.
