Bad breath mostly comes from bacteria breaking down food debris and dead cells in the mouth, especially on the tongue, between teeth and in gum pockets. Conditions like cavities, gum disease and dry mouth are also common causes.
To fix it, maintain thorough oral hygiene: brush correctly, floss daily, and don't forget to clean your tongue with a tongue scraper, since it harbors a lot of odor-causing bacteria. Drinking enough water also helps maintain saliva flow and reduce dry mouth.
If bad breath persists despite good hygiene, see a dentist to rule out underlying issues like cavities or gum disease that may need dedicated treatment.
